an unassuming presence even in an empty room. in fact, you may not even notice them there until it is too late; though too late for what? provided you are not a mark, simply a fright. if you are a mark, beware the flash of steel.of short stature and barely discernible gender, ghost wears dark clothing and is possessed of an equally dark personality. not cruel, no, but somber. muted and to themselves, beneath the hood that they oft don are a pair of wide gray eyes that watch and learn, and a mouth that does not speak unless necessary, either because they have nothing to say, or perhaps they have been trained to silence. regardless, their lips are tightly shut regarding most things, though one may find a curiosity hidden beneath their dark eyes, or in the flick of their tail, as if they want more.not many know their true name, and it may well have been stricken from all record. but people know of the ghost, this is to be certain. whether they have seen the ghost or not, they know it; a thief, an assassin, a spy - they can be whatever is needed of them, and they are so rarely caught. more rarely, they act as a devastatingly efficient voidsent hunter - when they have the time. they hail from the shroud, or so it has been told, but they can be found nearly anywhere there is work to be done.so, do you have something you need done?
— Veronica Roth, "Insurgent"
◇ ghost is a rogue. in this way, they cover many needs: thieving, spying, and assassinating. in underground circles, the miqo'te is known to be incredibly good at their job, almost unnaturally so. the moniker of ghost was not given for no reason, it seems.perhaps your character has been stolen from before? perhaps they have been targeted? or they've simply heard the rumors of an underground organization - the moonlighters? do you need something taken care of, stolen or found?◇ when they aren't focused on work, they tend to be fiddling. with knives, with baubles, with all sorts of things. they'll just take things from you and play with them.◇ sometimes, ghost is just there. why didn't you hear them walk up? surely, you'd have seen them walk into the room. so why, oh why, did you not realize until they were right behind you?while not invisible, it's easy to let your eyes pass over them. easy to miss, to ignore. they're in possession of a strange form of the echo; consider it like a perception check - if you don't already know they're there, then the chances you'll notice them in a room unless they make themselves intentionally known are lower.◇ ghost is anxious. the chances they'll trust you out of the gate is slim. trust is a hard won privilege with someone like ghost. if that is what you're after: good luck, they rarely make it easy.
◇ ghost is an impartial entity. they can, will, and have done work for all walks of life. they do not discriminate on who they accept work from, even if their morals might disagree; they do not - or perhaps cannot - shy away from any job, leading to them having enemies (and comrades) on all sides.◇ ghost is staring at you. there's really no telling why. maybe you're interesting, maybe you have something they're noticing, maybe you're a target. whatever the reason, they're staring. but not talking. you might have to start.◇ those from the shroud would know of ghost most of all, as it was where they began their career. they ran with poachers and bandits for some time as a scrappy teen. they seemed happier then - for a given value, anyway. nobody knows where they came from before then.◇ ghost seems to observe some small religious traditions and rituals that have very little in common with most modern eorzean worship. in this vein, one may find that ghost has a startling amount of information to share about voidsent. those with deep ties to mhach may find interesting conversations with ghost. or, they may not. it's hard to say.◇ ghost's aetheric signature is strangely blurry, blending in almost with their ambient surroundings. yet, the astute observer may find that while it is not quite void tainted, those with a familiarity to the void would nonetheless find their presence oddly adjacent. a diluted essence.
as a note: ghost will respond to whatever pronouns or identity is assumed of them. they rarely confirm what is the "truth."
feel free to have your character not be sure what they are, they like it that way.

— Lillith Regina, “Heartless”

hey there! i'm mal. my pronouns are she/they, i'm 21+, an artist, and an avid roleplayer. i generally prefer to roleplay with people also over 21. i tend to need to schedule rp, but i will sometimes do impromptu scenes as well. i am a para-rper, often doing two to three posts in one go, but i can mirror as well.when it comes to roleplay, i'm usually very open & excited to do it! i like writing out all sorts of stories and themes in my rp, and as such, i'm pretty much down for everything provided i can find a way to fit my character into what's being asked of me! and if, for whatever reason, you're shy to message me, please don't be! i love meeting new people & broadening my horizons.i'm available almost all the time 12pm pst onwards, since i work from home. i might not always be in game, but i'm certainly almost always on discord - which i'm willing to share if we've roleplayed once or twice before.
this character deals in dark & mature themes, is a morally grey criminal who does in fact kill people, and can even at times be a minor antagonist to the right (or wrong) people. they're a bit off their rock, and more often than not, are hard to talk to & difficult to connect to. some people will have an easier time than others! please keep this in mind!ghost as a character is difficult to romance. if that's something you're after, be prepared for a slow and possibly painful burn. commitment and ghost do not get along, and they tend to be a difficult emotional sell.
they will be a problem about it.most of my hard limits tend to be fairly standard, such as no permanent disfigurement or death of the character, no godmodding or metagaming, and while i am not uninterested in writing nsfw themes if our characters spark, please do not rp with me seeking only erp, it won't happen.
ultimately, communication is key! talk to me & i will talk to you.
the golden rule is golden for a reason. let's have a good time.
